The Lead Volunteer leads and inspires the 1st Cheam Scout Group’s team of volunteers and supports the wider Group to ensure it runs effectively and provides great opportunities and fun activities for young people in ages 6yrs through to 14yrs, and that Scouting within the Group develops in accordance with the rules and policies of The Scout Association. This role can be immensely satisfying and rewarding by making a real difference to the development of young people in our community.

You will help foster the empowerment of young people from a variety of underprivileged backgrounds, showcasing their individual spirits through inclusivity and togetherness. You’ll be there to help them to discover how brilliant they are; showing them kindness, and teaching them to be proud of themselves as they explore and grow through the week.

Hope for the Young's Mentoring Programme aims to remove the obstacles vulnerable young refugees and asylum seekers face in accessing education and achieving their full potential. We train Volunteer Mentors to provide specialised support and advice according to the young person's needs.

We have a beautiful garden site based at Springfield Hospital in Tooting where we provide horticulture training for disabled people and those facing health-related barriers to employment. This helps them move towards personal goals, opening up career opportunities and building confidence and self-esteem.
