As a Volunteer Driver/Befriender for The Hello Club, you will be a 'buddy' for a new member, to make them feel comfortable and supported in their first few visits. You will make a real and lasting difference to the lives of older people who are experiencing social isolation or loneliness.

A Local Group is a team of people who share our passion for livelihood creating tools, and gather to collect tools from their area. Many also arrange tool collections at local supermarkets, DIY stores and garden centres. Many also offer talks to local community groups and even speak on local radio. Some groups sort the tools before arranging collection, and some even do some refurbishment, such as grinding off rust and fixing loose handles.

Befrienders will meet people outside their homes, and go out locally together to do activities chosen by members. This could be going for a walk, cycling round the park, or helping with grocery shopping. As a volunteer Befriender you'll offer support and friendship to adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. Members of the scheme may also have a physical or sensory disability, and mental health needs.

Tuesday Club is a new service for those living with dementia and their Carers and is run by Carshalton Methodist Church. We are looking for volunteers to help us with the following:- Help the clients to engage in activities. Socialise with clients. Play games and get involved in activities as needed. Serve drinks and food. Tidy up after food and activities. Welcome clients to the club. Other tasks as asked for by the Tuesday Club Manager and Organiser.

Session volunteers prepare the ponies for riding lessons, lead in the school, support riders, and help with yard and field-based tasks.
